Announcement from the Office for Foreigners - Extension of temporary protection until March 4, 2028.

On August 5, 2026, the executive decision of the Council (EU) 2026/1912 dated July 30, 2026, came into effect regarding the extension of temporary protection established by executive decision (EU) 2022/382. Under this decision, the duration of temporary protection for displaced persons from Ukraine has been extended for a period of one year, until March 4, 2028. At the same time, temporary protection currently applies only to those individuals who have fulfilled their military obligations in Ukraine, upon presenting appropriate evidence in relevant cases. This provision has been in effect since July 31, 2026. The restrictions regarding the fulfillment of military obligations do not apply to individuals who were benefiting from temporary protection in a member state before July 30, 2026, and on that date, and who continuously maintain protective status in that member state.
